Shallot Griselle Bulbs are sourced directly from specialist growers in France and are widely recognised as the ‘true shallot’ by chefs and keen home cooks alike. Also known as the French grey shallot, this traditional variety (Allium oschaninii) produces distinctive grey-skinned bulbs with attractive purplish-pink flesh and a wonderfully rich flavour that enhances everything from sauces and dressings to roasted meats.

Supplied as a 500g pack of mature bulbs, each planted bulb develops into a cluster of up to seven shallots, providing an abundant harvest during June and July. Sweeter and milder than onions, they are a versatile kitchen favourite and are naturally rich in vitamins A, B, C and E.

Plant from September to November in fertile, well-drained soil for a dependable summer crop.
