Product Description

Potato Maris Peer has smooth, yellow skin with a hint of sweetness and firm cream coloured flesh that tastes superb. It holds its colour and does not break up when cooked. It is ideal for eating hot or cold, simply outstanding for chipping and potato wedges. Has some resistance to scab.

Potatoes are one of the most rewarding crops to grow, producing so much from so little. The smell of freshly dug soil as you lift them is unbeatable, as is their 'just harvested' taste. Savour freshly dug new potatoes from late autumn into winter - imagine lifting them first thing on Christmas morning! These late croppers produce slightly smaller yields than main season crops but if anything, this makes you appreciate them all the more!

The varieties listed have been kept in a cool store to stop them chitting but, once removed from our store in mid July, they quickly come into delayed growth. Planted in late July, they will crop from October and with a little straw protection, through to Christmas.

Plant the tubers as soon as received, they do not need to be chitted. Keep them frost-free to ensure good crop, if grown in bags move them to frost-free position. They will be ready to start lifting by the end of October/November.

Potatoes are delivered in 1kg bags, each pack containing approx. 8-14 tubers.

based on how quickly the potatoes have started to grow

I've given 5 stars based on how quickly the potatoes have started to grow and need me to earth up. Obviously I can't comment yet on the actual crop until December but assume they will be good based on the early performance.
