Product Description

Fast growing for early autumn crops with hybrid quality and a delicious, mild flavour. The medium-long shanks are topped with dark blue-green leaves and will hold well in the ground until required.

Sow & Grow

January-February, 1.5cm (1/2") deep in trays of seed compost. Keep moist and warm in a propagator. Transplant 5cm (2") apart to other trays when large enough to handle. Gradually harden off and plant out May-June, spacing 15cm (6") apart into 15cm (6") deep holes made with a dibber. Allow 30cm (1') between rows. Water seedlings but do not fill holes with soil. As plants grow, draw soil onto stems to improve length of blanch (white stem). April-May, thinly 1.5cm (1/2") deep in growing position, in rows 30cm (12") apart. Thin plants to 15cm (6") apart. Sow at 2-3 week intervals for a continuous supply. Keep well watered.
