Product Description

A vigorous, hardy variety ideal for pulling as 'mini' leeks, with an erect habit and long tender white stems. Mature plants can be overwintered.
Leeks provide a crop from summer through to spring. They are a good source of folate. Can be sown direct in the garden or started indoors

Sow & Grow

Sow: outdoors, March-early May, 1.5cm (½") deep in growing position, in rows 15cm (6") apart. Sow at 2-3 week intervals for a continuous supply. Keep well watered. For mature leeks, sow only to April and thin to 10cm (4") between plants. Harvest: July-December for mini veg. Mature leeks can be harvested from October and overwintered until April. Use the first thinnings, when the size of a pencil, as an alternative to spring onions. For mini leeks, harvest when shanks reach 1.5cm (½") in diameter. Alternatively, harvest every other leek, allowing the others to reach full maturity.
