Snakeshead Fritillary Bulb Collection combines two elegant spring-flowering favourites, pairing the distinctive purple chequered flowers of Fritillaria meleagris with the rarer white form, Fritillaria meleagris Alba. Supplied as 30 bulbs, with 15 of each variety, the collection is ideal for creating natural-looking displays that can return year after year.

• Fritillaria meleagris – Graceful nodding purple flowers with the characteristic snakeskin-like chequered pattern.
• Fritillaria meleagris Alba – The rarer white form, producing delicate nodding bells with subtle chequered detail.

Flowering from April to May, the compact plants reach around 15-20cm (8-10in) and are well suited to borders, containers, grass and woodland-style planting. Plant from September to October in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil in partial shade and allow the bulbs to naturalise for increasingly generous displays.

Bulb sizes are measured by circumference in centimetres. A 7/8 bulb measures approximately 7-8cm around. Larger bulbs generally contain more stored energy, helping to support strong growth and an impressive flowering display.
