A rewarding and easy to grow, compact shrub with masses of little flowers on arching stems that are a beautiful sight when in full bloom. Flowering in early summer, a period when most spring plants have faded and summer plants are yet to bloom, Deutzia makes an extremely useful addition to the garden. Often described as being honey-scented, the fragrance adds another dimension to their appeal. As relatively small species, it is incredibly versatile and can be planted wherever the fragrance can best be appreciated, such as near paths or in a patio border.
