Product Description

A highly recommended, early-flowering variety with large, up to 15cm across, star-shaped flowers in an intense violet-blue, featuring white central filaments and further complemented by silver-toned sepals beneath. Easy to grow, reliable and extremely hardy, this exceptional variety is an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. The flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies, blooming from late spring to early summer and late summer to early autumn before developing into attractive seed heads. Suitable for containers and also covering medium sized areas of trellis, as well as pergolas and archways. Clematis The President is recognised as one of the better varieties for use as a cut flower, due to its slightly thicker and stronger than average stems. Remove all leaves and place cut flowers into water immediately, blooms can then last from 4 to 10 days depending on room temperature. Height 1.8-3m. (6-10')
