Bok Choi Seeds

Sow your Pak Choi seeds outdoors thinly, 1.5cm (1/2in) deep in a well-prepared seedbed, in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil moist as they germinate. Thin them to 10cm (4in) apart for mature plants or harvest unthinned for baby leaves – picked when young and tasty as and when you need them. You can harvest Pak Choi from June to October. Keep well watered in dry and hot conditions.

Sow Bok Choi seeds outdoors from March to October for a steady supply throughout the warmer months. In mild climates, a late summer sowing in August or September can produce a crop into autumn, provided the plants are protected from early frosts. For an earlier start, sow indoors from February and transplant once conditions allow.

Bok Choi seeds typically germinate within 7-10 days when sown in moist, well-drained soil at temperatures of 15-25°C (59-77°F). Warmer conditions encourage faster germination, while cooler weather may slow the process. Keeping the soil evenly moist helps grow the strongest, healthiest seedlings.
