Berberis thunbergii Golden Ring Shrub Plants

A highly ornamental, compact shrub with small purple leaves, edged with a narrow margin of gold. The whole plant goes on to turn a bright red in autumn. Spiny stems produce a mass of dainty pollen rich little flowers in summer, followed by glossy, inedible red berries which do provide a feast for hungry birds in autumn. Perfect for compact and colourful hedges or planted individually in mixed borders where they will provide long lasting colour and contrast. Winner of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of garden Merit.
