Description

Allium atropurpureum Bulbs produce a superb combination of rich purple and dark crimson flower heads carried on strong, sturdy stems. Their deep colouring gives late-spring borders extra depth and contrasts beautifully with paler alliums and other flowering perennials.

Supplied as a pack of 10 bulbs, plants reach approximately 60-90cm (2-3ft) and flower from May to June. The ornamental flower heads are excellent for cutting and drying and are attractive to bees and butterflies. Plant from September to November in well-drained soil in full sun.

Bulb size: 10/12
Bulb sizes are measured by circumference in centimetres. A 10/12 bulb measures approximately 10-12cm around. Larger bulbs generally contain more stored energy, helping to support strong growth and an impressive flowering display.
