Anemone coronaria Collection A lively combination of three contrasting anemones brings colour and variety to sunny borders and patio pots. Deep violet-blue, vivid pink and clean white flowers each have their own character, but look wonderful growing together.

In the collection: Mr Fokker offers rich blue-purple petals around a dark centre; Sylphide brings double rose-pink flowers with dark centres; and The Bride adds elegant white blooms with green centres. The open flowers stand above finely cut leaves and can also be enjoyed in small vases.

Growing advice: Before planting, soak the dry bulbs in water for several hours to help them wake up. Plant in spring in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil, or use pots filled with peat-free compost that drains freely. Water when needed as growth begins, but avoid leaving the bulbs sitting in wet soil. Protect pots from severe frost and excessive winter rain; let the soil become drier once the leaves die back. Group the bulbs for a generous display, leaving enough space for the plants to develop.
