Description
Second Cropping Potatoes - Pentland Javelin (1kg) from Fothergill's offer a late-season harvest of smooth-skinned, white-fleshed potatoes that are perfect for fresh, home-grown spuds at Christmas. These specially selected tubers are stored under controlled conditions to remain dormant until mid-summer, ready to plant in late July or August. Crops are typically ready in around two months and can be left in the soil until required.
Pentland Javelin is one of the most disease-resistant varieties, producing high yields of round, white-fleshed tubers with excellent flavour. Plant as soon as received; no chitting is needed. For best results, grow in a sheltered, frost-free position, either in containers or potato growing sacks placed in a sunny spot, watering regularly to keep the compost moist. Each 1kg pack contains approximately 8–14 tubers.
