Description
Second Cropping Potatoes - Maris Peer (1kg) from Fothergill's are perfect for enjoying freshly grown new potatoes later in the season, ideal for Christmas lunch. These specially selected tubers are stored under controlled conditions to remain dormant until mid-summer, ready to plant in late July or August. Crops are ready in around two months and can be left in the soil until required.
The Maris Peer variety is a traditional favourite with smooth yellow skin and firm, creamy flesh that holds its colour when cooked. Ideal for boiling, chips, or wedges, it delivers superb flavour. Plant as soon as received, no chitting is required. For best results, grow in a sheltered, frost-free position. Containers or potato growing sacks work well in a sunny location, with regular watering to keep compost moist. Each 1kg pack contains approximately 8–14 tubers.
