Product Description
Many gardeners are choosing our potato kits to save space on their plot or because they simply don't have the room for a potato bed. They're perfect for beginners too - each kit contains 3 heavy duty, reusable growing sacks with a 40 litre capacity and 1kg of top quality seed potatoes.Potato Charlotte (Second Early Seed Potato) AGM : This French-bred, highly popular potato is the salad variety of choice of many discerning chefs. The smooth skinned tubers have a light yellow flesh which has a wonderful flavour and delightfully waxy texture. A further advantage is its resistance to scab and blight making it a must for all potato lovers!Potatoes are one of the most rewarding vegetables to grow. There’s the nurturing process of chitting, planting and earthing-up, the anticipation of a good harvest as you dig through the soil and, of course, the unbeatable taste of fresh, home-grown, potatoes. All potatoes (except for maincrops) will benefit from ‘chitting’ prior to planting out. The chitting process encourages the seed to sprout, which then when planted, helps them to establish more readily, leading to bigger crops. Simply place them, blunt end up, in an old egg box until the shoots are approximately 1½ to 2½cm (½ to 1in).

Instructions not as straight forward as they appear

The instructions for a beginner like me are not clear cut or straight forward. They could do with being more informative and helpful. I can only count 2 sacks instead of 3 too in the polythene bag. The proof will be later on this year to see what crop is produced. As always with companies, they ask for reviews far too early before the product has been used or grown.

Charlotte Potato Kit

Just add compost! The potatoes need 'chitting' for a couple of weeks before planting. Good strong bags and about a dozen potatoes.

Patio Charlotte Potato Kit

I was a little dispointed when my kits arrived, one of which was for a gift. Of the 3 planting bags included in the kit only one was suitable for potatoes the other 2 were too shallow. the bags and potatoes were of good quality.
