Oh Sow Simple - COSMOS Red Seeds

Sow indoors from February to April for the best results, placing seeds 0.5cm (¼") deep in trays of compost. Water thoroughly and position them in a warm spot with a temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F). Keep the compost moist, and seedlings will typically appear in 14-21 days. Once large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into other trays, spacing them 5cm (2") apart. Always hold seedlings by a leaf, not the stem. Grow on in cooler, but frost-free, conditions. Gradually acclimatize young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out into well-drained, light soil from May to June, spacing them 30cm (1') apart after the last frost.

Alternatively, sow outdoors from April to May for ease, planting seeds 1.5cm (½") deep in finely-prepared, well-drained, and pre-watered soil. Thin seedlings to 30cm (1') apart, and water well until the plants are established. Flowers bloom from June to October.
