Japanese Wineberry Fruit Plant is a wonderfully unusual addition to the fruit garden, producing shiny orange-red berries with a sweet, juicy flavour. Ripening through summer and potentially into early autumn, the fruit helps bridge the gap between summer and autumn raspberries and is lovely eaten fresh or shared in puddings, jams and preserves.

The long, red-bristled canes have a scrambling, trailing habit and are best trained against wires, a fence or wall. Grow in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, cutting old fruited canes to the ground after harvest and tying in the fresh growth.
