Product Description
Golden Wonder Potato Late Maincrop 1kg
A traditional heritage variety with golden russet skin, Golden Wonder is dry, floury and very tasty, particularly when stored into the New Year. Golden Wonder potato crisps were first created in 1947 by William Alexander, a Scottish baker in Edinburgh, who named both the company and the crisps after this variety. The brand became a major player in the UK crisp market, notably launching the first flavoured crisp, cheese and onion, in 1962.
Plants develop a neat, upright habit, growing to around 60cm tall and producing attractive violet-blue flowers before setting their maincrop harvest. With a floury texture ideal for roasting and chips, Golden Wonder combines its rich heritage with dependable yields, flavour, and excellent storage quality well into the following year. Supplied as a 1kg pack (approx. 8–14 tubers), Sunset produces a rewarding harvest from September.
