Product Description

Globe Thistle (Echinops ritro) is a magnificent perennial that adds height and drama to borders and beds. Our Globe Thistle seeds produce tall, stately plants with unique, mace-like flower heads in a mesmerising steel blue to purple colour. These eye-catching blooms sit above the plant’s serrated grey-green leaves, creating a striking contrast that commands attention in the back of borders.

These hardy plants typically grow to a height of 90 to 120cm (3 to 4 feet) and thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, they tolerate poor soils and drought. Their long-lasting flowers bloom from May to July, reaching 5 to 7 cm (2 to 3 inches) in diameter.

Order our Globe Thistle seeds today to enjoy these low-maintenance, long-lasting blooms - as beautiful in the garden as they are in dried flower arrangements. Pair them with our dahlia seeds for complementary shapes and textures, or our foxglove seeds for even more height. Or explore our full range of flower seeds for even more ideas!
