Candytuft Fairy Mixed Seeds

Candytuft Fairy Mix seeds can be sown directly outdoors from March to May after the last frost has passed, or in autumn from September to October for earlier blooms the following year. For an earlier start, sow seeds indoors in February or March, then transplant seedlings outdoors once established. Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil and ensure soil temperature reaches at least 10-15°C for best germination. Spring sowings will flower from late spring through summer, while autumn sowings produce stronger plants with earlier blooms. For continuous colour throughout the season, try successive sowings every 2-3 weeks during spring.

Candytuft Fairy Mix grows to a compact height of 15-20cm (6-8 inches), making it an ideal choice for front-of-border positions, edging pathways, and rock gardens. This low-growing annual forms neat, bushy mounds that spread approximately 20-25cm wide, creating dense carpets of colourful blooms without overwhelming neighbouring plants. Their compact size makes them perfect for container gardening, window boxes, and alpine displays where space is limited.

Candytuft Fairy Mix is low maintenance once established, requiring minimal care to thrive. Water regularly during the first few weeks to help seedlings develop strong roots, then reduce watering as mature plants are drought-tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and extend the flowering display well into summer. Feed occasionally with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. These hardy annuals rarely suffer from pests or diseases, making them perfect for beginner gardeners.
