Description
Blackcurrant Ebony Fruit Plant brings an unusually sweet blackcurrant to the garden, with very large, juicy berries that are delicious enough to enjoy straight from the bush when fully ripe. The generous early-summer crop is just as lovely shared fresh as it is turned into family favourites such as crumbles, jams and desserts.
Ebony forms a fairly compact, bushy plant reaching around 120cm, making it easy to find room for in a fruit garden, allotment or kitchen-garden border. It also shows good resistance to mildew and will grow in full sun or light partial shade. Plant in rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and mulch annually to help keep the roots cool and moist.
Whether supplied bare root or as an established potted plant, Ebony is a rewarding way to add years of exceptionally sweet home-grown fruit to the garden.
