Description

Allium atropurpureum & nigrum Bulb Collection creates a striking contrast of rich purple and creamy white in borders and containers. Supplied as 20 bulbs, with 10 of each variety, the two alliums are similar in height and flower together from May to June for a coordinated display.

  • Allium atropurpureum – Dramatic deep purple to dark crimson flower heads held on strong upright stems, bringing bold colour to beds and cut-flower displays.
  • Allium nigrum – Tall, elegant clusters of creamy white flowers with dark green, almost black centres, equally impressive in the border or vase.

Plants reach approximately 50-90cm (20-36in). Plant from September to October in well-drained soil in full sun. The architectural blooms are suitable for cutting and attractive to pollinators.

Bulb size: 10/12
Bulb sizes are measured by circumference in centimetres. A 10/12 bulb measures approximately 10-12cm around. Larger bulbs generally contain more stored energy, helping to support strong growth and an impressive flowering display.
