Description
Grafted Tomato Shirley is a well-loved greenhouse tomato, valued for its reliable cropping and well-flavoured, classic red fruits. The early-maturing tomatoes are ideal for slicing into sandwiches, adding to salads or using in everyday home cooking.
Shirley is an indeterminate cordon tomato, so train the main stem up a strong cane or string and remove side shoots regularly. Grow in a bright greenhouse or sheltered sunny spot once frost risk has passed. Water evenly, feed with tomato fertiliser as fruits set and keep the graft union above compost level.
