RHS Tomato Outdoor Girl

Outdoor Girl Tomato seeds should be started indoors from February to April, sowing approximately 0.5cm deep in quality seed compost. When seedlings develop their true leaves, move them into individual pots and maintain them in a warm, bright location. Following the final frost, acclimatise the plants gradually and transfer them outdoors or into a greenhouse, spacing roughly 60cm apart.

Outdoor Girl is an indeterminate (cordon) tomato, which means it grows tall and keeps producing fruit throughout the summer. It's best grown with support, such as a stake or cane, and you'll get the best results by removing side shoots as it grows.

Outdoor Girl keeps producing tomatoes all summer long rather than all at once. A healthy tomato plant can produce 10 to 15 pounds or more of fruit in good conditions. Since Outdoor Girl tomatoes are small to medium-sized, this means you could get dozens of tomatoes from one plant throughout the season.
