Product Description
Oh Sow Simple - Cabbage Loose Leaf Seeds from Fothergills offer a versatile and hardy variety perfect for both spring greens and mature loose heads. These plants are extremely hardy and boast good resistance to disease, making them a reliable choice for your garden. Packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, this cabbage variety is as nutritious as it is flavorful. For outdoor sowing, plant seeds thinly in a seed bed, 1.5cm deep, in finely prepared, pre-watered soil. Seedlings typically appear within 14-21 days. Water well until the plants are established. Once the seedlings are around 10cm tall, transplant them 60cm apart, leaving 60cm between rows. Firm the plants into the soil and water them well after transplanting. For indoor sowing, plant seeds 0.5cm deep in a tray of compost. Water thoroughly and place the tray in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Keep the compost moist, and when the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them 5cm apart into other trays. Gradually acclimatize the young plants to outdoor conditions before planting them out. With careful attention, you can enjoy a healthy crop of loose-leaf cabbage throughout the growing season.
