Product Description
Oh Sow Simple – Baby Carrot Seeds are a highly reliable ‘Chantenay’ type, perfect for growing sweet, tasty baby carrots. These carrots are known for their resistance to running to seed, making them a great choice for consistent harvests. With their excellent storage ability, they can be enjoyed well after harvesting. These carrots are also an excellent source of vitamin A and antioxidants, providing nutritional benefits alongside delicious flavor. For sowing outdoors, thinly sow where they are to crop, 1.5cm deep, directly into finely prepared soil that has been watered. Allow 30cm between rows, and early sowings may benefit from cloche protection. Seedlings typically appear in 14-21 days. Thin by harvesting young carrots evenly from the row, leaving the remaining carrots to grow on. Water well until the plants are established, and regular sowings every three weeks will ensure a continuous supply of young roots. Baby carrots are best lifted when they are around 5cm long, and mature roots can be harvested in autumn. Remove soil and store in dry sand for later use.
