An exclusive Sweet Pea – Sweet Pea Suffolk Punch Miggie!
The Suffolk Punch Trust is based in Woodbridge Suffolk and is dedicated to the preservation of Suffolk’s unique history. It operates The Hollesley Bay Colony Stud, the world’s oldest stud farm breeding the extremely rare Suffolk Horse. The Trust safeguards the future of this unique animal, which shaped the landscape of Suffolk and played a crucial role in the development of rural life in Suffolk, as well as farming throughout the British colonies.
Sweet Pea Miggie is a spencer type, with large frilly flowers in purple and lavender bi-colour. It has a very strong scent for its type. It was named in recognition of Margaret (Miggie) Wyllie, the founder of the Trust’s Suffolk Heritage Garden for her hard work and dedication which shaped the Heritage Garden into the beautiful garden it is today. The garden has been awarded ‘County Collection’ status by the Plant Heritage and is stocked with plants that have been bred by Suffolk people or are associated with the county. If you visit at the right time of year you will be able to see Sweet Pea Suffolk Punch Miggie in full bloom and young horses in training.
Mr Fothergill’s Seeds are helping to raise much needed funds for the Suffolk Punch Trust through packet sales of Sweet Pea Suffolk Punch Miggie, helping to secure the future of the wonderful Suffolk Punch Horse.
