Product Description

Teasels are architectural and dramatic plants with spiny stems and spiky, cone-shaped flower heads. As a hardy biennial, teasel seeds grow in their first year and bloom in their second. The tiny, purple clustered flowers attract bees and butterflies in summer before turning to seed in autumn, providing a vital food source for birds, especially finches.

Officially recommended by the RSPB, these fantastic wildflower seeds thrive in sunny spots with well-drained soil and can grow to 1.5-2m tall. With their dramatic height, teasels are guaranteed to make a statement in any garden, whether allowed to self-seed or planted at the back of informal borders. They can also be cut and dried for impressive and long-lasting indoor arrangements.

Pair teasel seeds with other great flowers for pollinators and create your very own wildlife garden, or browse Fothergill’s complete collection of flower seeds for even more choices!
