Product Description
Oh Sow Simple - Broccoli Sprouting Purple Seeds from Fothergills offer a delicious and nutritious treat, perfect for adding variety to your spring harvest. This gourmet vegetable is not only packed with flavor but is also hardy, easy to grow, and rich in essential nutrients. With high levels of vitamins C and A and a wealth of antioxidants, it’s an excellent addition to a healthy diet. For outdoor sowing, plant seeds thinly in a seed bed at a depth of 1.5cm in finely prepared, pre-watered soil. Seedlings typically appear within 14-21 days. Keep the soil well-watered until the plants are established. When seedlings reach approximately 10cm tall, transplant them to their final growing positions, spacing them 60cm apart in all directions. Ensure they are planted firmly and water them thoroughly after transplanting.Alternatively, sow seeds indoors at a depth of 0.5cm in a tray of compost. Water well and place the tray in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse, keeping the compost moist. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them 5cm apart into other trays. Gradually acclimatize the young plants to outdoor conditions, ensuring they avoid frost, before planting them out in the garden. With proper care, this versatile and hardy crop will reward you with delicious purple sprouting broccoli to enjoy.
